Action Mesothelioma Day 2026 Announced

There were 2,146 mesothelioma deaths in Great Britain in 2024, of which 1,771 were male deaths, and 375 female deaths.
This is lower than the 2,255 deaths in 2023 and substantially lower than the average of 2,508 deaths per year over 10-year period 2011 to 2020.
Annually, Merseyside Asbestos Victims Support Group conduct an event to commemorate the day and to help to educate the general public and victim's families on the continueing loss of life due to exposure to asbestos which causes Mesothelioma and other Asbestos related diseases for which there are no known cures at present.
The day has special guests speaking on the various areas of research and medical development together with legal support services which includes solicitors and MAVSG staff present providing information and advice.
